Peter J. Mallott QPM. Cert. Ed.

 Peter Mallott is a retired Police officer and Surveillance Trainer who freelances for selected Private/Commercial Surveillance and Investigative clientele.

He is a seasoned professional with over forty two years  of police experience, the vast majority of that time being involved with Investigative practice, operational surveillance activity and Surveillance training on both a local, regional, national and international perspective

His strengths lay in operational surveillance activity, developing, facilitating and evaluating both theoretical and practical learning within the specialist field of Covert surveillance work. To this end he was a National Accredited Surveillance Trainer as well as a Training Development Officer (T.D.O. D32/D33).

His previous police experience, as a Detective Sergeant, has embraced operational investigative roles, surveillance work within the No. 3 Regional Crime Squad as well as Operational commander of a West Yorkshire Police Dedicated Surveillance Unit.

In 1997 he was responsible for creating and developing the Surveillance Training Wing within the West Yorkshire Police Training School at Bishopgarth. Within that role he was responsible for the development of many surveillance related courses as well as steering through, by means of collaboration, the North Eastern Surveillance Training Group.

The last eight years of his service he was involved, as Surveillance Trainer for West Yorkshire Police, in regional, national and international surveillance training, working for the British Foreign & Commonwealth Office, United Nations International Drugs Control, Euro Customs and European Union.

He has a wealth of experience in International Training and has undertaken training courses in, Nepal, Bosnia and Herzegovina (6 occasions); Russia; Azerbaijan, Slovenia (3 occasions); FYR of Macedonia (3 occasions); Bulgaria (3 occasions); Romania (3 occasions); Turkey ( 3 occasions); France, (2 occasions), United Arab Emirates (7 occasions); Poland, Czech Republic, Libya and Serbia & Montenegro.

He holds a Certificate in Education, gained from the University of Huddersfield, and a City & Guilds 7306 Teaching qualification.

He was honoured in 1993, in the New Years Honours List with the Queens Police Medal for services given for his Surveillance Police work. Throughout his Police career he had been commended by the Higher Courts on fourteen separate occasions.
