This Strategic Assessment course is suitable for those engaged in, or looking towards the role of Strategic Analyst. The course compliments law enforcement analyst training and presents material which describes the process of Strategic Analysis and the Analysts role. It takes the student through how the UK National Intelligence Model works with Strategic Analysis, this is transferable to other organisations, negotiating terms of reference, highlighting Key Judgements and much more.

Duration of this course

This course consists of 11 modules and is expected to take between 20 and 30 hours to complete. However, individual students work at their own pace, as such this estimate should be used as a rough guide only – it may take you longer or you may complete the course in a shorter time. The course is assessed by means of module quizzes and 3 written assignments.

Computer requirements
In order to complete this course you will need to have regular access to a computer which meets the following minimum specification. Most computers purchased in last few years will far exceed these requirements:
  • Intel Pentium processor (or equivalent) with speed greater than 800 MHz
  • Memory of at least 256mb
  • 200mb of hard disk space
  • Microsoft Windows 98 (or higher) with latest updates installed or Mac OS 9.x or OS 10.1.x
  • Firefox 1.1+, Internet Explorer 5.0+, or Safari 1.0+
  • An internet connection – broadband preferred
  • Access to an email address is also required
  • A screen display with at least 800x600 pixels resolution
  • Compatible sound card and speakers (or headset)

Required Software:-
  • Operating system: Recent Windows or Mac OS
  • Adobe Reader (if you don't have this then you can get it FREE here)
  • Microsoft Office (alternatively, you could use the Free program - Open Office)
  • Flash Player 9 or above (Free program)

In order to complete this course, you must be able to use a computer keyboard, be familiar with using a mouse, navigate the internet to a basic level, open and close files on your computer and save and retrieve documents on your computer.

Assessment & certification
There are 11 Modules in this course; each is made up of a number of Chapters. You must complete each chapter satisfactorily in order to move on to the next chapter.

The module is completed when you have completed all the course videos’ and achieved an overall course mark of 60% or more (which is a basic pass).

Our courses have two forms of assessment, Continual Trainer Assessment and Graded Assessment. To be awarded course credit, and obtain an end of course certificate with regards to Graded Assessment, you must achieve an overall pass grade (60% or more) and complete all modules of the course.
